The Gathering of Wisdom: Reflection
Divine Encounter is one of the major programs that we celebrate annually in Pauline Walley Evangelistic Ministries (Overcomers House). As we celebrate our twenty-third anniversary, it became necessary to write and post some of our reflections in our e-newsletter. This is meant to share the knowledge gathered from our Garden of Wisdom with everyone.
In Overcomers House, we believe in the gathering of wisdom and sharing of knowledge at all times to empower our generation and beyond. Therefore, you are encouraged to receive this knowledge as some of our youths share their reflection in this e-newsletter.

What is solution?
Solution is a common word that we use very loosely! Solution is a seed, a tree, and a fruit. When you have a seed, we have to look for a fertile ground! The seed can spread and multiple.
Gen. 1:28 - Be fruitful and multiply.
We have been given authority in four dimensions!
Do not limit your seed!
Our command is to be fruitful,
To multiply,
To subdue and
To Replenish!
Solution is dealing with difficult situations in order to obtain results. The solution is God, and His word is solution to us.
Solution is a manner of solving problems.
Solution is a way of seeking satisfaction in an uncomfortable situation.
Whenever we study the word, we are studying Jesus!
The world will give you a temporary solution, but it’s not strong enough to take us into eternity! A lot of people in the world just want the pastors to listen to their problems, but they don’t want the solution that comes from the word of God!
Solution without Jesus is in vain - Proverbs 28:6
We can miss our divine encounter after we gain our solution and not give the glory back to God!
2) How do we access solution?
Identify the hindrances in your life and seek God for your solution!
Identify how your problems go and come, or repeat itself. STUDY YOUR LIFE!!
Identify how many people have the same problem as you.
When you don’t talk about the problem in order to gain solution, then it can become an idol!
Ask God what you should do in order for the problem to be solved!
Ask yourself where did this cycle of problem in my family originated from?
3. Are you willing to receive solution?
When you are not ready to embrace solution, you will begin to fight against the process. We can be in church and still look back like Lot’s Wife! Stop embracing the problems that are in your families, and genuinely seek for solution!
When you’re praying about yourself and asking God “Why do I get angry so much,” God will cause people to get you upset more so that you can identify what gets you angry!
Our Heart is the Throne where God Dwells! We MUST continuously re-dedicate our lives to Christ often!
The spirit of familiarity can attack our minds when we don’t keep in contact with the word of God. When we don’t keep in contact with the Word of God, we can miss our solution. Nehemiah 8:10
Whenever we receive a solution, we must share our solution with others. Our solution is not for ourselves alone! We need to stop thinking about what people have to say about us sometimes because their assumption is not the solution or peace that we need!!
Some of the questions which will help us identify the problem in our lives include:
1) Who cursed the family?
2) How did they curse the family?
3) How can God help us?
We need to get into a place of desperation for solution.
Is pride getting in the way of your solution?
We must surrender ourselves!!
When people humble themselves God will bring solution!
Divine Encounter Summary
The greatest miracle that you need in your life is for you to give your life to Jesus Christ.
When you give your life to Jesus Christ you have received a Divine Encounter.
Anything that God does that is beyond human measures and understanding is a Divine Encounter.
Every word of God that you read is a seed.
We are commanded not go into the presence of God empty handed.
In that same manner, we should not leave the presence of God empty handed.
If you go to church with a stubborn heart and anger, you need to ask God to give you his holiness.
An encounter changes your heart.
We need to ask God to do spiritual surgery of our hearts.
It is important that we pray and thank God instead of continually praising the devil for his evil acts.
An example is by always saying “The devil is a liar.” Instead, praise God and do not give the devil too much credit.
It is our duty to pray for those who are lost.
We need to pray that their souls will be arrested.
We need to walk in love.
I also learned that, for example, cleaning the bathroom is a type of offering to the Lord.
As an usher, it is your job to make people smile.
By doing this, you are giving an offering to God.
Beware of those who carry the spirit of witchcraft.
The witchcraft spirit always wants to be heard and seen more than God.
An example is gossiping about people after church.
Instead of gossiping, begin to praise God so that you can shine.
We have to be the salt of the earth.
Divine Encounter heals the brokenhearted.
In addition, the spirit of the Lord is long-suffering.

Attending 2020’s Divine encounter was truly eye opening. I have received many tools to take into my everyday life. On the first night we focused on “Awareness of the Times and Seasons.” We also focused on “What exactly is Divine Encounter?” Here are some of the things I’ve learned.
Divine Encounter is God’s intervention.
It’s an experience that God has designed specifically for you.
It’s a little taste of heaven on earth.
Divine Encounter is anything that comes from the Lord.
An Encounter is a face to face experience with the move of God.
When you experience an encounter, you should feel peace.
If you’re not careful and not sensitive, you won’t be able to recognize your encounter.
To be sensitive, you must know the word of God in order to receive what God has in store for you in that moment.
Divine Encounter is anything beyond human comprehension is an encounter.
An encounter causes a chain of reactions, and it creates new endeavors that have the ability to change your life.
Matthew 5:13 declares that we are the salt of the earth.
We should be a delight.
We should be sweet and pleasant which is satisfying and agreeable in taste.
In the same manner, we are called to be the salt of the earth.
Salt is a preservative.
Fire purifies us so that we may become vessels that Jehovah God can use.
Sweet aroma and Offerings unto God
Aroma means the smell, fragrance and aroma of sweet smell.
Remember, we are the light of the world and the salt of the earth.
As salts, we need to season the lives around us.
Ephesians 5:2 commands us to walk in love as Christ loved us.
He gave up himself for us as a fragrant offering and a sacrifice to God.
The opposite of aroma is odor.
This can be defined as (a stench or an attitude).
It is similar to Cain’s offering in the Bible.
As you praise God your offering becomes a sacrifice unto Him.
We need to allow your life to be an offering unto God.
Your life should be an encounter.
People should see you and see Jesus.
The way you respond to people is an offering unto God.
One attribute to witchcraft spirit is murmuring.
Murmuring grieves the Holy Spirit.
The conference continued on the subject of “Divine Encounter”/Awareness of the times and seasons. We focused on 3 topics. They include:
Manifestation
How God shows himself
How to pray.
Here are a few things I learned that are helping me in my personal journey.
God is the supreme controller
Don’t ever get used to God because you will begin to miss His purpose.
When we pray, we need to have an agenda before we begin to pray.
Write down your prayer points because that is how you will be able to keep track of the miracles God does in your life.
Be mindful of what you are asking and what you are expecting.
When you pray, you must lay down your crowns.
We must learn how to be humble and teachable.
Manifestation:
Manifestation is visible.
It is a display of the power and glory of God.
You need manifestation to prove that God is truly leading you.
1 Thessalonians 5:17 states to pray without ceasing.
Prayer is a continuous act.
It develops your relationship with God.
If God is indeed your Father, you should be in constant conversation with Him.
Whenever you have bad thoughts, begin to deposit more Godly information into your spirit.
For example, you need to read Christian literatures and the Bible.
If your thoughts have no identity with the word of God, it won’t be fruitful, and it will begin to draw from the world and create one.
God’s word is a seed. Water it and it will grow.
There are 3 things that connect with our manifestation.
They include, water (which represents the washing), oil (the anointing and healing) and fire (consumes, destroys the works of darkness, separates good from evil).
Thursday, June 4th, 2020 (Day 1)
On the first day of Divine Encounter, Dr. Pauline Walley-Daniels combined our Sunday service topic on the “Awareness of Times and Seasons” with our Tuesday Bible Studies topic on “Salvation” to become the topic and focus for this year’s Divine Encounter conference.
I learned that Divine means anything that is unusual and supernatural.
Encounter is having an expectation that Jesus is with you, and will always be with you.
It is to know and understand that God will show up for you.
It is a place where God trains you for your destiny.
It is a face to face contact with someone you did not think you will meet.
Divine Encounter is the place of dependency.
It is the quality of having heaven on earth.
Dr. Pauline referred to the scriptures Ephesians 1:4-6 and Psalm 119:1-3.
Friday, June 5th, 2020 (Day 2)
During Day 2’s session, I learnt that we should not get to the point where we are familiar with God. We also spoke about the word manifestation.
This means an appearance of things that are spiritual in reality.
It is proof that God is hearing and answering us.
It is also a demonstration of power, presence and the glory of God.
Manifestation comes from the act of prayer.
The word of God manifests as a seed.
When we read the word of god, we are sowing seeds into our lives.
We need to identify our prayer and not just pray.
When we speak to our seeds, we produce the right seed.
The scripture is our legal grounds and that is what we need to defend our seeds.
Manifestation of the word of God comes in three forms: water, oil and fire.
Water represents washing. Oil represents anointing. It heals whichever areas we have brokenness.
Saturday, June 6th, 2020 (Day 3)
During our third day, Dr. PWD discusses sweet aroma.
I learned that love is an aroma.
It is the sweetness of the Holy Spirit.
For example, a tangerine is extremely sweet.
That is how the Holy Spirit is.
An encounter occurs when God connects to you.
He makes us lovelier, polite and etc.
Another word for miracle is Divine Encounter.
Divine Encounters transforms your life; you can no longer be the same.
The opposite of aroma is odor.
Sunday, June 7th, 2020 (Day 4)
On the last day of the conference, I learned that solution is dealing with difficult situations in order to obtain results.
It is the manner of solving problems.
A way to assess the solution is to identify the struggles and problems.
We must ask ourselves, what is the root cause of the problem?
Who started the hindrance?
Was it your mother, father or grandparents etc.?
It is important we speak up.
Sometimes families do not desire to speak up which causes them to hinder their own blessings.
They conceal the problem.
For example, they may say “Do not speak about that. Our grandfather told us not to speak on it so we will not talk about it.”
We have to be sincere with ourselves and ask ourselves, “Are we willing to Receive Solutions? This is important because sometimes we want solutions but are not ready to embrace these solutions.
We should not receive the solutions and look back.
We should not be like Lot’s wife.
We need to look up to the Lord (Psalm 121:1).
Solution needs our cooperation to manifest in our lives.
We need to share solutions with those who we don’t know (Exodus 15:1).
God sends us solutions, but only when we have learned how to humble ourselves.

June 4-7, 2020
Divine Encounter 2020 was themed "Awareness of Times and Seasons". Through this 4-day journey we studied what a divine encounter actually is, and how to identify that you are experiencing and having one with the Lord. I am going to highlight the points that ministered to me the most.
Divine Encounter is being able to identify how God speaks to you.
It is an experience where we taste heaven on earth and come to a place where we depend only on the Holy Spirit. One of the primary ways the Lord speaks to us is through His Word {Bible, teachings, and sermons}.
I used to believe that it is was only when a man or woman of God lays hands on you and you fall, that you have a divine encounter or touch from the Lord. However, this weekend I learnt that if you fall under the power of the anointing, yet you rise up as the same person with no change in your life, you did not have a divine encounter.
A divine encounter is to bring about change in your life for the better. It is to bring hope, encouragement, deliverance, a more Christ-like attitude, behavior, language, and more.
Therefore, when I hear a sermon or read the Bible and I get the inspiration to change my life and habits in a manner that would make me more Christ -like, I have had a divine encounter. When I read a word of scripture that brings me hope/ strengthen my faith I have experienced a divine encounter.
Divine encounter includes receiving a prophecy but is not limited to only prophecy. Our lives must show evidence of encountering God and we must be prayerful so that we can identify when our divine encounter is happening so that we do not miss or overlook our moment with the Lord.
We must be willing to sacrifice and work for the Lord.
Dr. Pauline taught that the fire of God is to purify and cleanse, thus making us vessels that the Lord can use.
With that fire and purification comes the ability to walk in the fruit of the Spirit and abstain from fleshy desires (Galatians 5).
We are to offer our lives as living sacrifices unto the Lord.
A sacrifice ranges from our service in the church to our money and time.
We should not come to God empty handed because when we leave the presence of God; we do not go empty handed.
An encounter with God can never result in leaving empty.
Lastly, on Sunday - Day 4 we learned about Solutions with Dr. Pauline.
Every problem needs solution, but if we are not aware and sensitive to times and season, we can miss our solution.
There are times when we get solutions to our problems, but we don't like it, so we disregard it, and Dr P taught us that, that is a missed divine encounter.
We have to be open to receiving the solution, and willing to cooperate in order for the solution to work.
We must also be truthful to ourselves and be willing to identify/ come to terms with the truth of our problem.
A lot of times we are taught to not talk about certain touchy matters, especially generational sins.
When we refuse to acknowledge the problem, we indirectly reject the solution, thus hindering our deliverance.
